Sherman Takes Over

Posted by sportsconversation on December 5, 2007

Sherman and RCHutch: You can bet A&M AD Bill Byrne is glad this process is over.  Its been no secret that Dennis Francione’s time in Aggieland was pretty much done at halftime of the Miami game this year.  Since then, Byrne has been burning up the phone lines to find what the next head coach at A&M.  When Byrne held a press conference after the win against Texas, he stated a “national search will begin today.”  But Bill, you aren’t fooling anyone.  We all saw the writing on the wall and A&M hired you to be one of the best ADs in the nation.  We knew you had your guy.

Whit: Bush was the main reason for the 2004 championship.  USC is probably going to forfeit that game, but the biggest hit would be if the NCAA decided Read the rest of this entry »

It is believed that Fran has been in negotiations regarding a buyout over the last few weeks.  To make you familiar with the situation, Fran has an additional $8.5 million dollars remaining on his contract, which runs through 2012.    Given the events regarding Fran’s involvement in e-mail fiasco where he sent private information about scouting reports to select boosters for thousands of dollars, the university has been pushing him Read the rest of this entry »
